The 4-Point Approach
The Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge (Fowler GSIC) invites students enrolled at participating universities to engage with one or more of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals by developing a social innovation that responds to an environmental or social challenge at the local or global level!

Finalist students pitch their proposed innovative solutions virtually at the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge Final in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.
ROUND 1
*Confirm Round 1 and 2 due dates with your university. With the exception of the Global Finals deadline of June 4th, each university sets its own deadlines for preliminary rounds.
STUDENT PARTICIPANTS
ROUND 1 SUBMISSION
Student-led teams “apprentice with” a social or environmental problem of their choice, and produce a visual map/chart /infographic and an executive summary of the issue that demonstrates their understanding of this issue.
ROUND 2 SUBMISSION
Student-led teams craft an innovative solution to their chosen problem or issue and demonstrate this proposed solution’s impact, feasibility, sustainability, scalability or replicability, as well as its acceptability or desirability to the community or target population.
GLOBAL FINALS SUBMISSION
Up to two finalist teams from each participating college/university can advance to the Global Finals. Pitch decks are due one week before the final pitch in June 2021. Global Finalists will pitch their innovations virtually and must demonstrate a realistic implementation plan, well-defined next steps and their team’s commitment to implementing the venture.
